UFC is preparing a tough fight for Umar Nurmagomedov

Sports journalist Ariel Helwan said on The MMA Hour podcast that the UFC is trying to arrange a fight between two of the organization's top bantamweight fighters, Corey Sandhagen and Umar Nurmagomedov.

Umar himself also hinted at such a fight on Instagram. "There will be a fight and it will be my best ever," Khabib Nurmagomedov's cousin wrote. Umar Nurmagomedov has 16 wins in 16 fights. In his last fight in January, he knocked out Razny Barcelos in spectacular fashion in January. It was his fourth consecutive victory in the UFC.

At the moment, he is number one in the 61-kilogram division and is a former champion of the Gorilla Fight circuit. Sandhagen (16-4) is on a two-game winning streak. In March, he won a unanimous decision over Marlon Vera in the main event of UFC San Antonio in March.

Before that, he knocked out Song Yadong. The American is currently fourth in the rankings. He holds victories over names like Frankie Edgar, Marlon Moraes, Rafael Asuncão, John Lineker. His losses in the UFC octagon have been inflicted by current and former champions in the division - Aljamaine Sterling, TJ Dillashaw, Piotr Jan.
