Verratti will certainly play in Qatar
Marco Verratti's transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Qatar's Al-Arabi can be considered secure, according to French media and Fabrizio Romano. There is already complete agreement between the Qataris and the 30-year-old Italian midfielder. PSG accepted Al-Arabi's €45m offer just 10 days ago, with Verratti now expected to fly to Doha in the next 24 hours to undergo the mandatory medical and sign with his new club until 2026.
The Italian was wanted in the summer by European giants such as Barcelona, Bayern and Chelsea, but his large salary delayed the negotiations and in the end a transfer was not reached. He was also wanted by the Saudi Al-Hilal, but his transfer there did not take place either. Verratti spent 11 years in Paris following his move from Pescara in 2012. He made 416 appearances for PSG, the second-most in the French club's history - 20 behind Jean-Marc Pilorguet.
In them, the Italian scored 11 goals and provided 61 assists. He is also the most successful player in the history of the club and in the French championship, having a total of 9 titles, 6 French Cups, 6 League Cups and 9 French Super Cups. From the beginning of the season, however, he was not included in the composition of the Parisians, as he was not included in the composition that registered for the Champions League. Another PSG player who no longer gets chances at Parc des Princes - Julian Draxler - is expected to play in Qatar.
